“Total” was the first handle I developed in collaboration with Olivari, and I would describe it as a shared concept. The initial idea I proposed was for a handle with a geometric, sharp-edged design that was almost elementary in its simplicity. Olivari responded with a technological innovation that became the defining feature of the handle: the complete absence of a rose, which is typically the plate that surrounds the base of the handle. This technological advancement not only supported the design but also became the main character of the handle, highlighting the clean, minimalist aesthetic that we aimed to achieve. The result was a handle that seamlessly integrates with the door, emphasising its pure form and making the absence of a traditional rose a key aspect of its design.
