Olivari “Virgola” Door Lever Handle — Model M251B

Designed by Ron Gilad in 2016, the Virgola M251B lever handle is where elegance meets ergonomic refinement. Inspired by architectural detailing and historic ornament, Virgola brings softness to metal through sculpted curves while keeping its presence resolute and purposeful

Design & Ergonomics

Virgola has its formal origins in a villa interior project on Lake Garda. Its design is born from two starting points: history / aesthetics and function / ergonomics.

  • The handle’s lever shape softens the classic “L”‑form by rounding, carving out and mirroring its surfaces. This creates a better—and more welcoming—grip, particularly where thumb meets handle.

  • Historically, the design references architectural flourishes: inside‑out curves or bevelled edges in stonework, iron railings, or metal plaques. It’s a detail that evokes romanticism and places the hardware in dialogue with the past.
