Twist M242B

Designed by Ben Van Berkel The concept of torsion plays a central role in various UNStudio projects, where it is applied across different scales, from large architectural structures to smaller, more intimate objects. In the case of the “Twist” handle, UNStudio has adapted the idea of torsion to a much smaller scale, transforming the twisting motion into a form that is directly relatable to human interaction. By doing so, the design bridges the gap between architecture and human experience. The handle’s twisting form is carefully reproportioned to fit the scale of the human body, specifically catering to the hand’s gesture and its tactile perception. This creates a seamless connection between the user and the object, making the act of interaction both intuitive and physically engaging. The torsion here is not just an aesthetic choice but a functional one, enhancing the user experience by aligning the design with the natural movement and ergonomics of the hand.
